Sedlescombe

Judy Torrance, Asselton House

Last weekend I hope some of you found time to visit Sedlescombe church to see the beautiful floral arrangements, in remembrance of loved ones, that also served to decorate the building over the Easter period. A big thank you to the team of flower arrangers and all the volunteers who give their time to ensure the church is presented at its best at all times.

Along with visiting the flowers at church we also managed to visit the steam giants of Brede. I have to say I was not that keen but once there found it very interesting especially when a member took us round on a free tour. The whole enterprise is run by Brede Stream Engine Society, a charity entirely run by volunteers at the Southern water site. The site is open the first Saturday of every month therefore tomorrow April 6 from 10am to 4pm and entry is free, donations welcome. So why not be a tourist this weekend and visit some engineering history at the Brede Heritage site

If you are new or old to the village there is always room for more volunteers to help out on the day, if you think you could spare some time then please give Bob a call on 871415.

We also need a specific volunteer to cover for first aid on the day, if you have the qualification for this and would give your time for this village event then we would be very pleased to hear from you.

If you have an event coming up in the local area or would like to have a small piece, outlining your club or organisation aims, activities, membership etc. then please contact me by email to [email protected] or by calling 870344. Please allow a couple of weeks notice before an event to allow for full coverage
