After a very long period of stability on Sedlescombe Parish Council with little change in membership, four parish councillors have resigned this year. The Sedlescombe is grateful for the valuable contribution of these people to the life of our Village. As everywhere, there are some interesting challenges to face around the corner and decisions will need to be made that will affect Sedlescombe for years to come. Sedlescombe is hopeful that people will come forward willing to devote a few hours each week to the work of the Parish Council. Applicants to fill the current vacancy should send the completed form which can be found on the www.sedlescombe.org.uk website together with an A4 description of themselves and why they believe they would make a good councillor to the Parish Clerk at Woodland Cottage, Chapel Hill, Sedlescombe or by e-mail to [email protected]. Applications should arrive no later than 5pm on Friday 26 October.

The AGM of the Sedlescombe Societies’ Association will take place on Friday 2nd November at 7.30m in Committee room 2 at the village hall.

Village groups and organisations which are in need of modest funds are invited to apply for a share of the limited profits raised this year due to the cancellation of the village in July. If you are such a group please send your request in writing to the Secretary, Asselton House, The Green, Sedlescombe TN33 0QA for consideration at the above AGM date.

Please also consider whether you would like there to be a village fayre on 27th July 2013 and could get involved to make it happen. A new secretary is required for the committee to continue, along with other new members. Please think about whether you could bring your skills to the Association for the benefit of the village.
