Sedlescombe set standard

SEDLESCOMBE is leading the way with its Neighbourhood Plan.

That is the view of Colonel Anthony Kimber who has been playing a key role in forming a Neighbourhood Plan for Rye.

The plans give local communities a greater say in planning issues and prioritising amenities.

Colonel Kimber said: “I went along to view the public exhibition at Sedlescombe and was very impressed with what I saw.

“ They are way ahead of us with a high level of community interest and a very good plan.

“I will be making recommendations that we adopt some of their practices in Rye.”

The Rye Plan steering group has now launched a web site and is holding a public meeting at Rye College on October 17 at 7pm.

Plans consider housing, work and business, community issues, transport and the environment.
