Sedlescombe village voice

On Saturday August 25, there is Fantastic Indoor Boot Fayre at Sedlescombe village hall.

Doors open at 2-4pm with a 50p charge on the door. They are hoping for a good attendance for this local cause and there will be refreshments available during the afternoon. If any one wishes to donate any other household items for this Boot Fayre we can sell them on the day and all proceeds will go towards Shaun Wood’s headstone who was a local young man who tragically died last year. Please come along and support his family.

There are still some stalls available so there is still time to clear any of your own unwanted items, if you wish to book a stall, they are £10 with table provided. Set up at 1pm before the doors open. If you do wish to book please contact on Karen Dann 01424 883550

You may have noticed that there has been some activity taking place around the sports field car park this is because the parking area is being doubled in size, this should alleviate some of the problems with cars when the field is being used for sports and events. The work is being paid for by Sedlescombe Sports Association, Sedlescombe Rangers FC and the Parish Council. This with the completion of the Pavilion garage storage area will make the playing field a much more attractive and user friendly space for the community to enjoy.

I have had information regarding Jempson’s free bus service which runs daily around the local area for customers without their own cars, the elderly and those with mobility problems, to their Peasmarsh Superstore. The service runs through Sedlescombe every Monday, calling at the Green at 11.13am then East View Terrace at 11.17, the bus will conveniently stop anywhere if it is safe to do so in-between entering the village from Paygate Road and on its way to Cripps Corner. Jempsons are an independent family owned supermarket group consisting of four stores, three in East Sussex and one in Kent further information can be found on their website www.jempsons.com

If you have an event coming up in the local area or would like to have a small piece, outlining your club or organisation aims, activities, membership etc. then please contact me by email to [email protected] or by calling 870344. Please allow a couple of weeks notice before an event to allow for full coverage.
