Sedlescombe village voice

The excitement for this weekend must surely be focused on the Olympic opening ceremony and start of the games, after witnessing the marvellous achievement of Bradley Wiggins now it’s the turn of Team GB to keep us glued to our seats.

Win or lose though our competitors have shown tremendous commitment to their sport to be representing Britain and will hopefully have the added benefit of maybe inspiring other people, young and old, to try some new sport in the future.

Despite having to cancel the village fayre last weekend the flower show which reverted to the village hall had a super turn out of entries and plenty of visitors enjoying the afternoon. Thanks to the Sedlescombe and District Gardening Society there was even a little space outside for a few fundraising stalls. Sedlescombe Societies’ Association would like to thank all those who volunteered to help and take part at the hall running cake, dvd, book, tombola and raffle stalls. Sedlescombe stores and the Clockhouse hair and beauty studio were very generous with their donations of prizes despite the change of venue and size, their support was greatly appreciated.
