After many months of committee meetings, planning and discussing, the Sedlescombe Fayre and Flower Show scheduled to take place this Saturday July 21 has had to be cancelled due to the condition of the sports field and field used for parking, not to mention the unpredictable summer weather.

Sedlescombe Societies’ Association would like to thank all those who had volunteered to help and take part in this special day and hope that you will once again come forward to support this village event in 2013.

The Sedlescombe and District Garden Society’s Summer Show which was going to be part of the day will continue to take place in the village hall from 2pm. If you have entered in classes for the show please ensure they are staged as per your schedule between 9.15 to 11.15am at the village hall. There will be refreshments served throughout the afternoon and the raffle, tombola, book and cake stall planned for the field will also be waiting for you so please come and support the afternoon.

The next meeting of Sedlescombe Green W I will be on Wednesday July 25 at 7.30pm in the village hall. Mr Chris O’Donoghue has been invited to speak on “Behind the scenes at Chelsea Flower Show”. This is an open meeting therefore everyone is invited to attend, ladies and gentlemen. There is a small entrance charge of £1 which will include tea or coffee and biscuits. should you require more details please call 870688.

The parish church would like to thank all who supported their recent summer fayre which raised £607 for church funds.

There is now only a few weeks left of the Open Gardens for St Michael’s hospice which are open on Tuesdays, the next one is July 24 at Duval’s Farmhouse and Duval’s Farm ,Whites Lane, Hawkhurst TN18 5DD from 10.30am to 4pm. Once again, programmes with full details are on sale at Sedlescombe Stores.
