This Saturday, May 12 Sedlescombe and District Gardening Society hold their annual plant market at the village hall. There will be plenty of great value plants for sale. Doors open at 10.30am and everyone is welcome so don’t be late to grab a bargain and add some colour to your garden this season.

If you are interested in the development of the existing tennis court area then there is a parish council meeting on Thursday May 17 in committee room 2 at the village hall starting at 7pm when this item is on the agenda for discussion.

Messy England will be attending the jubilee fayre on June 2. They are a china painting company and as part of the items on offer, they will have 6cm ceramic coins which have been pressed with Diamond Jubilee Logo, which you will be able to decorate as the perfect momento of this special year. Don’t forget to mark your diaries to support this jubilee event taking place on the village green.

The main event though will be the Jubilee picnic on the sports field on Monday June 4 – another date to mark down and for the whole village to join together in celebration.

Advance notice - Sedlescombe Players next production the American farce “The Amorous Ambassador” will be playing at Sedlescombe village hall in June. The production will be cafe-theatre style, with tables of 8. Tickets are on sale now for Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June priced at £ 9 without supper, also for Friday 22 and Saturday 23 June priced at £14 including supper. The Open Garden for St Michael’s hospice this Tuesday May 15 is Fishers Farm, Fontridge Lane, TN19 7DD from 10.30am to 4pm. Programmes with full details are on sale at Sedlescombe Stores.
