Jellybeans Mothers and Toddler Group runs every Tuesday Morning from 10am till 12noon. Every week provides a wonderful morning of crafts with beautiful toys and dress-up. There is always plenty of fun and activities with refreshments and snacks available. There is a small charge of £2.50 per child and adult and 50p for each child thereafter. All welcome.

A welcome return to the village hall; on Wednesday March 14 for Sedlescombe and District flower club, after missing their February meeting due to snow. If you would like to come along, visitors and members are both very welcome. Doors are open at 7pm, in anticipation to welcome Trisha Bashford who will be demonstrating under the title “Fragrant Fantasies” from 7.30pm. Lilies immediately spring to mind, love them or hate them, they are certainly fragrant but I’m sure that Trisha will be much more creative than just lilies! There is time during the evening to browse the sales table for all your flower arranging needs, to socialise and make new friends, and even buy raffle tickets to win the beautiful finished arrangements.

It’s the time of year to order lilies ( here they are again) at £2 each in memory of loved ones to decorate our parish church at Eastertide. There will be envelopes in church from next Sunday march 9 to enclose your money and names of those to be remembered on the role of honour at Easter. If you are unable to do that please phone Sylvia 870688 or Margaret 870808 for details.

Bookings are coming in for both village fairs, and the committee look forward to a fun day for all the family, firstly at the spring fair on Saturday 28 April being held on and around the Queens Head and the Village Green. any enquiries for this please use the contact details at the end of the column.

The main village fayre and flower show taking place on the sports field on Saturday July 21 is also at the planning stage and would like to plead for some strong men, not for me you understand, but to help out on the day of the fayre ! Many hands make light work as they say and with marquees to be erected and dismantled over the weekend, it would be very encouraging to see some additional volunteers this year. If you think you could spare some time to help give the village this special day then please contact Bob on 871415.

If you have an event coming up in the local area or would like to have a small piece, outlining your club or organisation aims, activities, membership etc. then please contact me by email to [email protected] or by calling 870344.
