A news update from Sedlescombe CE Primary School: Our school netball teams recently played matches against Battle Abbey at home, we won one match and just lost the other. All girls played well, and we are very proud of them all.

The parents then provided a delicious tea in our school for both schools creating a lovely afternoon.

Our football team played in the quarter-finals of the area cup last week, against Westfield Primary School, and won 2-1.

On February 23, we had a lovely first visit by pupils and staff from our new link school in Eastbourne, St. Andrew’s CE Infant School.

We are beginning to learn about our differences and similarities, and discover ways in which we can findout more about life in each other’s school.

As we are both in East Sussex, we are able to visit each other’s schools quite easily, which makes this link become more real.

We also link with a school in Pandare, in India. Our Year 5 and 6 children share work and letters with pupils.

This is a very strong, established link and we have even had teacher exchanges.

We are getting very excited as we have managed to raise funds, through grants and PTA fund-raising, to purchase a Yurt, which will be erected soon in our school grounds.

This will be used for a variety of lessons, storytimes, groupwork and will be a great area for the children to enjoy learning and playing in.

We feel very luck. Please feel welcome to enjoy reading about lots of other school news, photos, events etc. on our School Learning Platform: www.sedlescomebcep.e-sussex.sch.uk
