Serial burglars strike in village

POLICE are hunting burglars following a series of break-ins in Catsfield on Wednesday night.

Staff at Redcoat Orchard, in Catsfield Road, called officers after disturbing intruders on the site at around midnight.

It was later discovered that the locks on a number of outbuildings had been broken.

Nothing was stolen.

Meanwhile another business in Warren Yard, also in Catsfield Road, was broken into some time between 10.30pm on Wednesday and yesterday (Thursday) morning.

Burglars had tried to break into a container on the site.

At the time of the Observer going to press, it was not clear if anything had been taken from the site.

Police believe the same person, or group of people, were responsible for both incidents.

Officers say the suspects may also be responsible for wrenching a security light off the wall of a house in Crowders Lane, Catsfield, also on Wednesday night.

“If unsure, phone the police.”
