Serious collision on M23

MOTORISTS are being warned to avoid the M23 following a serious collision around 3.40pm this afternoon (Monday).

A collision, which took place on the northbound carriageway, involved two vehicles.

The carriageway was closed in both directions between junctions nine and ten to allow the Air Ambulance to land. The southbound carriageway is now open again.

One person received serious injuries and will be taken to hospital by helicopter.

Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1002 of 12/9.
