Session on crime fight

Hundreds of people were given help to beat crooks at a crime prevention session outside a Bognor Regis store.

Crime prevention officers from the town's police station were joined by four Neighbourhood Watch volunteers for the initiative at B and Q in Shripney Road.

Trevor Cox, one of the officers involved, said: 'It was a successful event. About 200 people came to the display table and we handed out probably about the same number of bags which included crime prevention leaflets.'

The occasion co-incided with a senior citizens' discount day at the store to ensure elderly residents gained the information about how to secure their sheds and houses.
