Several schools to partially close because of strikes

SCHOOLS in the Gazette area have been largely unaffected by strikes taking place around the country today.

The National Union of Teachers is holding strikes today over what it says is the Government’s unwillingness to discuss pay, working hours and conditions and pensions.

Thousands of schools across England and Wales are set to close today.

However, only three schools in the area have been affected by the strikes, with all three partially closing today.

At the Angmering School, classes in years, seven, eight, nine and ten are closed, while classes in years 11, 12 and 13 are open.

The cherry class and Elm class of St Margaret’s CofE Primary School are closed, but the rest remain open.

At the Slindon CofE Primary School catkin class will be closed all day, while chestnut class will be closed until noon.
