Severe railway disruption including delays of up to 80 minutes is affecting passengers in Sussex this morning (Tuesday November 10).
Poor rail conditions and a number of incidents involving Southern Rail trains have contributed to the issues.
Incidents include an engineering train that broke down in Haywards Heath at about 6.30am, a passenger train breaking down and a passenger being taken ill.
The routes between Uckfield/East Grinstead and London Bridge/London Victoria have been severely affected.
A message on Southern Rail’s website reads: “Ticket acceptance has been agreed on Metrobus services over route 291 between East Grinstead and Crawley via Three Bridges.
“East Grinstead and Uckfield line ticket holders may also travel to/from Lewes, Haywards Heath or Three Bridges as an alternative.”
Passengers travelling between Uckfield/East Grinstead and East Croydon may travel via Lewes, Haywards Heath or Three Bridges.
