Severe weather warnings for East Sussex have been issued for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as tomorrow (Wednesday February 5) by the Met Office.

Gusts of around 60mph could sweep across the county tomorrow, with a further spell of heavy and persisitent rain on Thursday and heavy rain early on Friday morning.

Another area of heavy rain will reach the far southwest of the country late on Friday evening and spread across remaining areas during Saturday morning.

The rain will be accompanied by very strong winds, with gusts to severe gale force (70mph, perhaps locally 80mph), mainly in exposed and coastal areas.
