As reported in the Express in June when shooting began local actress Sarah Cannon, who has taken part in pantomimes at St Philip's Catholic Primary School and the Uckfield Community College, plays Neil's mum in the movie.

Once the editing task has been completed - that is expected to take about six more weeks - the film-makers will be approaching distributors with the hope of it being released around the middle of next year.

Mr Markwick, who runs The Picture House in Uckfield, expects the completed film to run for about 90 minutes and is pleased with the results so far. 'I think we have almost achieved the impossible by making Uckfield look sexy,' he said.

Among Uckfield places featured during filming were the West Park Estate, the High Street, Di Marco's restaurant and The Picture House while rural locations included The Griffin Inn, Fletching.
