The registered charity, which helps disadvantaged people in Burgess Hill and the surrounding areas has been building a community workshop for the past six months, making new benches and installing machinery and tools.

The new workshop is a stimulating and relaxing environment for pursuing worthwhile activity, socialising, and sharing interests and experiences. A large, well-lit space equipped with a range of traditional and modern equipment, it is ideally suited to a range of craft activities.

After six months of hard work, the ‘shedders’ will be opening its doors on March 15, from 10am to 2.30pm at the Burnside Centre in Victoria Road.

In the workshop, members’ work alongside others and decide which projects and activities to do and often work together on projects to improve Shed facilities or help community groups.

The open day includes a guided tour of the facility and an opportunity to talk to the ‘shedders’ about their work and projects.

Refreshments will also be provided and shedders will be on hand to explain what they do, how to become a member and various other ways to get involved.
