Shoplifter’s guilty plea

A MAN who stole alcohol from a supermarket pleaded guilty to two charges of shoplifting at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Neil Woods, 39, of Sompting Road, Lancing, was given a 12-week prison sentence despite being due to have a CAT scan for a head injury he suffered in a recent attack.

As he was led from the dock, Woods, clearly distressed, called out: “You might as well have put a bullet to my head.

“You’re signing my death warrant.”
