Shoreham stylist to help Dame Vera Lynn celebrate her birthday

Jane Busby used to dance with the Second Generation dance troupe and for one night only Dougie Squires is reforming the group to perform at the occasion.

Jane said she is honoured to be performing with her former dance group with Dougie Squires OBE directing the performance.

About 70 dancers have come from Dougie’s dancers from the 50s to the 90s with people flying in from Singapore, Canada, Holland, France and the length and breath of the UK.

Jane said: “Dougie is an amazing person and has had such an influence on so many lives. I have great memories of the times working with him and now its like being 20 again getting back together as the group and catching up with so many old friends.

“100 A Tribute of Dame Vera Lynn celebrates the life of the singer, songwriter and actress who was known for performing to troops across the world during the Second World War.

“She was often called the Forces Sweetheart and went on to raise millions of pounds for charity. Vera will celebrate her 100th birthday on March 20. The event will raise funds for the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity and will include performances from Bradley Walsh, Aled Jones, the RAF Squadronaires, Wayne Sleep and hosted by Alexander Armstrong.
