Shoreham volunteers sort donations for Greek refugee camps

Piles of winter clothing and toys donated from people in Shoreham will be sent to children and adults who are being housed at Softex refugee camp in Greece, in part of a former toilet paper factory.

Volunteers met at the Shoreham Free Church for two hours each day to sort through the collection and get it packed up.

Mother of two Fiona Murdoch, 43, who co-ordinated the collection using Facebook said she was ‘really pleased’ at the response from the community, who have donated and fund raised enough for three pallets to be sent to Greece and one to Syria.

The pallets will be sent off today (Thursday, November 17).
