Shoreham woman left fighting for her life following collision

AN elderly woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a minibus yesterday afternoon.

The 73-year-old woman was crossing Upper Shoreham Road, close to the junction with Erringham Road, when she was hit by a white LDV minibus travelling east at about 3.30pm.

The woman, who is from Shoreham, was been flown to St George’s Hospital in London with life-threatening head and chest injuries.

The minibus driver, a 61-year-old man from Angmering, has been arrested on causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He is currently in custody.

The seven passengers in the minibus were not injured.
