Shotguns stolen from Diplocks Slaughterhouse in Ringmer

SHOTGUNS were stolen from a slaughterhouse in Ringmer during a burglary on Sunday December 4.

At around 1am two men entered the Diplocks Slaughterhouse in Bishops Lane and three guns were taken.

The shotguns have not yet been recovered but no ammunition was taken.

Sussex Police conducted an extensive operation and arrested two men on suspicion of burglary.

A 28-year-old man from Burgess Hill and a 22-year-old man from Ringmer have been bailed until February 19, 2012, pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to speak to anyone who have any information about the incident or anyone who was in the Ringmer area at around 1am and saw anything suspicious.”
