Show off your Christmas house lights to the world in our website event

Decorating the exterior of homes and gardens with festive lights and decorations has become as much a part of our culture as the traditional Christmas tree. They make for vibrant and colourful scenes and would love to see your videos of them in action.

We’re asking our readers and users to submit a short video clip, around 15 seconds, of their own house lit up.

The news team will then judge the best Christmas lights and the winner will be announced on our website on Friday December 20.

Here are some basic rules:

Must be video and no longer than 15 seconds in total.

No photographs, must be video.

Try to keep the camera as still as possible, and if filmed using a phone, please film it landscape, not upright.

Don’t forget to include your contact email address and phone number, including the town or village you live in.
