Silver and antiques stolen

Burglars sneaked in through a sliding door at the back of the house in Station Road, Mayfield,while the owner was sleeping.

Among the stolen goods was a silver Russian jug worth 9,000.

A silver salva, which had been given to the home owner's father as a wedding present in 1915, was also stolen.

It was engraved with the signatures of nine army generals.
