'˜Sink hole' in Hastings

A passer-by noticed a '˜sink hole' in the middle of a Hastings road this morning (Monday, January 25).

Michael Stringer tweeted a picture of the damage on Linton Road, that he described as a sink hole.

An East Sussex County Council spokesman said: “We were made aware on Monday of a hole in the road in Linton Road and sent one of our stewards out on the same day to take a look.

“The hole, which covers an area of around two square metres and is situated close to the kerb, has been fenced off to prevent motorists from driving into it.

“We will be carrying out a full investigation and repair, which we hope to complete later this week.”
