Sion students enjoy prom celebrations

A ‘GREAT group’ of year 11 students at Our Lady of Sion celebrated the end of their studies on Friday with a glittering prom.

Students turned up to the school hall, in Gratwicke Road, Worthing, in a variety of modes of transport, including a Rolls Royce and double decker bus.

The occasion was organised by a prom committee of six students, with awards handed out to all those attending.

Headmaster Michael Scullion said: “It was wonderful to see all the parents, families and friends greeting and supporting the year 11 students as they arrived at their prom on Friday.”

Teacher Colin Conway added: “The class of 2014 have been a great year group throughout their time at Our Lady of Sion and this was highlighted by the excellent atmosphere at the prom.”

Fellow teacher Sue Illsley said the students were a ‘great year group’.

Prom king and queen awards were presented to Dominic Wilton and Aniqa Haque, while ‘mostly humorous’ awards were given to every student on the night.
