Sisters to swap sunny Worthing for LA glitz

Shea Kimpton-Brown, 12, and her sister Summer, nine, both caught the eye of agents while on a trip to the United States.

The pair are set to swap sunny Worthing for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, along with their mum Sue. Meanwhile, dad Mick will stay at home as the girls attempt to realise their dreams.

Both girls have been mentored by 19-year-old Anastasia Palikeras who runs London-based company Connect Your Talent.

Summer, of Ringmer Road, Tarring, said: “Anastasia has helped me make my dreams come true and I have made lots of friends. She is like another big sister. I can’t wait to go to LA. I love Hollywood and one day I want a star on the walk of fame. I really want to do films and be the next Angelina Jolie.”

While Summer has always been an extrovert, her sister has struggled with confidence issues.

Initially, Shea accompanied Summer to a talent scouting convention in Orlando, Florida, in a supportive role. When Summer caught the eye of an LA-based agent, the family flew to California straight away. It was in the agent’s waiting room that Shea was scouted herself.

Shea said: “I always went with my mum and sister to all her classes and auditions but never thought I would get involved. It was too scary, even though I was always getting asked.

“Spending time with Anastasia, I realised that it’s not so frightening and after being picked out by an agent in LA I thought I would go for it. I’m so excited to be going soon and hope I make my mum and dad proud.”

According to construction worker Mick, 48, the transformation in his eldest daughter has been huge.

He said: “I would have given everything to see the transformation in Shea. Since she joined the programme she is a different child. It’s amazing.”

He acknowledged that the time apart from his family will be hard but has given them his full support.

“It will be hard but what an opportunity for them. I’ve got to back them 100 per cent.”
