Skipping challenge at De La Warr

THE De La Warr Pavilion continued its Stepping Outside season last Friday with a skipping challenge.

The match was led by world champions, the Blue and White Skippers from Warwickshire.

Workshops were run by skipping group, Made In Kent, to get people warmed up and raring to go.

Over 50 participants jumped to the challenge on the sun-soaked terrace. The participants ranged from toddlers to an 83 year old man.

Consultant Programmer for Stepping Outside, Portland Green, said: "The response from participants and audience alike was enthusiastic, with calls for a Bexhill skipping team and a national skipping revival!

"Skipping is another example of a physical activity which introduces participants to elements of dance such as rhythm, direction and control in a fun, non-threatening manner."

Stepping Outside continues with an aerial dance workshop today.
