Sky blue charity stunt

A LEWES television executive has joined the Blue Rinse brigade all in the name of Children in Need.

Simon Hayward-Tapp, 43, of Southover High Street, had his hair dyed electric blue at the BBC, where he works and raised 3,000 for the charity in the process.

'He did it because our children Caitlin, 12, and Cassy, nine, asked him too,' said Simon's wife Alayne.

'They had heard that he dyed his hair blue/black in 1980 as a fashion statement and wanted to see what it looked like.

'It's very, very blue at the moment as the BBC hairdressing salon double-bleached it first. And he's stuck with it until it grows out.

'He doesn't wear a hat to work but he might start doing so as he keeps getting funny looks on the train.'
