A flipping good time was had by all when people young and old turned out for Peacehaven’s pancake run.
Participants from four years old to the ripe old age of 80 took part in the contest which was held in the town on Monday (February 16).
The Mayor’s pancake run saw around 60 people take part in four races.
The event was supported by SCDA (Sussex Community Development Association) which provided the pancakes on the day.
Participants lined up outside the Peacehaven Town Council offices in the Meridian Centre. where Mayor Robert Robertson was on hand to start the run.
As you can see from these pictures, everyone who took part had a great time and cllr Robertson even ended up with a pancake on his head (pictured right).
Everyone who took part in the run enjoyed a free pancake at the end of the event.
Shrove Tuesday, orPancake Day, took place on Tuesday (February 17).
The celebration precedes Ash Wednesday which is the first day of Lent.
Shrove Tuesday is celebrated by eating pancakes.
