Slindon fly-tipper has been caught

A FLY-tipper was made to clear up a huge pile of dumped directories after a conscientious member of the public reported the offence.

The fly-tipping was reported to Arun District Council after it was spotted on National 
Trust land at Park Lane, Slindon on May 15.

A council enforcement officer was then able to track down the person responsible.

The offender was then made to clean up the mess within 24 hours.

Paul Dendle, Arun’s cabinet member for environmental services, said: “This is a great example of how the public and the council can work together to keep our countryside the way we all want to see it, not littered with dumped waste.
