Slindon Primary School visited by piglets

PIGLETS made their mark on their first visit to Slindon Primary School.

The young animals quickly got to work with their snouts, searching the grass when they arrived as part of a children’s farm.

Head teacher Jane Walters said: “They were wonderful to watch, but the area needed to be reseeded after they’d left!”

The piglets were joined by adult and baby pigmy goats and sheep, among other animals, for the farm’s first visit to the school.

The four-legged theme was continued by the Shetland pony brought along by a pupil’s family for rides and another pony by a former pupil.

“We had more past pupils come along than we usually do,” said Ms Walters.

“It was nice to see them and catch up with what they are doing.”

The fete raised about £1,500 towards playground markings for games.
