Slinfold bank holiday family day and hog roast

There will be a yard of ale contest, bouncy castle, tombola, and games at the Red Lyon, The Street, Slinfold from 2pm.

Hog roast will be served in the evening and live music, courtesy of ‘Moot’, a local band, will play from 6:30pm.

Gerry Howard, chairman of the charity’s Horsham and Crawley branch and his wife, Ann, have been involved with the British Heart Foundation for the last 15 years after Gerry’s heart problems were helped by innovative medicine supported by the foundation.

Gerry said: “Instead of an operation they started a new thing called the Rita Trials, a special medication I was on for ten years.

Ann said: “He’s had heart problems but went on trials so didn’t have surgery.

“His problem was dealt with just medication, so we wanted to give something back for the very good treatment Gerry received.
