Slippers for celebs

SLIPPERS for celebrities are being designed by pupils at Polegate Primary School.

Year 6 youngsters are designing the footwear as part of their design technology lessons with the help of professional shoe designers from Jones Bootmakers.

The children have written to their favourite celebs, who range from Britney Spears to The Queen, to find out what kind of slippers they might like to wear, and two responses have already been received: a signed photograph from Tony Blair and a letter from Her Majesty s lady in waiting.

As soon as the design process is complete in a few weeks time, a range of fabrics will be used to actually make the slippers, again with the help of pros from Jones.
