SMALL SCREEN SUCCESS

The Sussex Downs College, Lewes, performing arts students appear on ITV television in April for the second time in their brief careers.

Joe, 17, of Landport Road, Lewes, and Ashley, 17, of South Coast Road, Peacehaven, first appeared last spring in a crowd scene in Channel 4's Sugar Rush series, set in Brighton.

And in April they appear in Foyle's War, the story of a wartime detective set in East Sussex.

Both the former Lewes Priory School pupils hope to become actors when they leave college, Joe mixing in a little stunt work as well, and Ashley hoping to go on the stage.

Said Joe: 'The idea of being an actor who does his own stunts appeals to me.

'I like doing crazy thing like riding bikes on hills, skate boarding and free-falling on to crash mats from great heights.'
