Smoke alarm warning

Firefighters in Worthing have warned again about the dangers of not having a smoke alarm after attending a kitchen fire.

Two crews were called to a third-floor flat in Dolphin Lodge on Friday morning.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire Brigade told Worthing Today: "Had a smoke alarm been fitted in the flat the occupant would have been alertd at an earlier stage and the fire would have caused less damage."

Four firefighters wearing breathing masks tackled the fire at around 8.10am.

The third floor of the building in Grand Avenue, Worthing, was smoke logged.

Nobody was injured.
