Sniffer dogs join missing Lancing man Mark Manning murder case search

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and a heavy police presence concentrated on Becket Motors, in Littlehampton Road, in a related search.

The search continues, with police sniffer dogs surveying the rear courtyard of the garage.

Police have not provided further updates since confirming a 38-year-old Worthing man was arrested yesterday.

Mr Manning 54, of Brighton Road, was last seen on April 19, 2014 before his family reported him missing on April 22.

They said it was completely out of character for him to disappear.

Officers launched a murder investigation last June. A year on and despite extensive proof of life enquiries and searches, no one has reported hearing from or seeing Mark.

His body has not been found.

Officers last week searched Brooklands lake after an anonymous tip off suggested Mr Manning’s body could be found there, but nothing was discovered.
