SNOW: Drivers staying safe in snowy weather

WEST Sussex fire and rescue service said it has had a fairly quiet day, despite heavy snowfall.

Gary Towson, fire service spokesman, said there had been relatively few accidents in the county, with no major incidents at all in Worthing so far today (Monday, February 2).

Mr Towson said: "Like everyone else, we've had people who can't make it into work, but we've got enough cover and it's been fairly quiet so far.

"I think because of the conditions, people have been driving slow and also a lot of people haven't been into work.

"I would just urge people to take notice of the warnings, in particular young and inexperienced drivers, and to keep their speed down."
