The Shoreham Society says it wants clarification about the future of the airport, as speculation in the town grows about long-term prospects for the historic airfield.

Members are posing a set of questions to establish what the intentions are and the society hopes the owners and operators, local councils and other interested parties will provide answers for their meeting on Friday.

The society meeting, at St Peter’s Church hall, in West Street, Shoreham, on March 21 at 7.30pm, will include a presentation about the airport’s history, as well as discussions about its future.

The meeting is part of the society’s ongoing events programme, and it follows the public meeting it has called as part of the campaign to open Shoreham’s station subway, at 6pm at the same venue.

Refreshments will be available. The public meeting is free but entrance to the society meeting is £2 for Shoreham Society members and £3 for non-members.

Visit the website www.shorehamsociety.org.uk for the list of questions being asked by the society.
