Sofa Workshop looks set to move into 7, West Street.

The shop unit was formerly clothes shop Warehouse, before the company moved out.

Sofa Workshop has lodged a planning application with Chichester District Council for a new sign outside the building, based in the former Dolphin and Anchor Hotel, between Costa and Waterstones.

The sofa firm has 17 shops currently around the UK.

It has been in business around 30 years.

A spokeswoman from the firm said as the store was in such early stages they would rather not comment at this stage on coming to Chichester.

Currently, its nearest store is in Guildford, with others in Newbury, Tunbridge Wells, Chester, Exeter and six in London, including Tottenham Court Road.
