'Sorry for the smell? It's the same stink as usual' say villagers

Villagers have been kicking up a stink for months over the noise, smell and litter associated with the landfill site.

In a letter, landfill operators Viridor promised a series of measures to tackle the pong- after what they called 'a series of odour related complaints',

Terri Canham, of Tottington Drive, Small Dole, was so irritated by the letter that she tore it up in disgust. She said: " Somebody needs to tell Viridor the disgusting stench given off by their operations is the norm. We experience it practically every day."
