Southern Water supports hospice

THERE is no limit to where St Michael's Hospice fundraiser Jenny Tyrrell will go in pursuit of aid for the charity.

Bexhillian Jenny's latest venture has taken her to a construction site.

The hospice has received a 1,000 cash injection thanks to Southern Water and their contractors 4Delivery which are putting safety first as part of their motto "be proud to be safe".

So far, Southern Water and 4Delivery have raised over 20,000 for good causes including cancer research charities and pet rescue centres across South East England as part of the initiative.

4Delivery's construction manager Chris Hodgson said: "Construction sites are dangerous places to work so we wanted to give staff an incentive to work safely.

"For every accident-free man day we have been working on the scheme at Robertsbridge, 4Delivery and Southern Water donated 30p to charity. We are really pleased to be able to donate to the hospice and help ensure all our staff go home safely at the end of every working day."

Ben Green, Southern Water's senior project engineer, said: "Health and safety is a top priority for Southern Water.

"We are delighted our contractor is taking this message seriously, and at the same time is able to raise money for such a good cause."

Jenny donned safety gear for her site visit.

She said: "We are delighted to receive this donation from Southern Water and 4Delivery.

"We are very grateful for this donation which will help offer specialist care for individuals who have a life limiting illness and provide support for their families and friends."
