Southwick Christmas festival '“ better late than never

THE Southwick Christmas Festival has gone ahead '“ one week later than planned.

A fair, stalls and a visit from Father Christmas were originally planned for Saturday, December 13, but the event was rained off and to had to be rescheduled to Saturday, December 20.

"The weather was in complete contrast to the previous Saturday which helped make the day a success for everyone who took part," said Beryl Ferrers-Guy, of the Southwick Traders Association.

"Thanks to the generosity of the local shoppers, the charities were delighted with the amount of much-needed funds that were raised.

"Despite the disappointing start to the original date, it was well worth the effort of re-organising the event as it is the one opportunity each year the Southwick Square Traders have to thank everyone for their support."
