Spa water dream over

A MAN who found uniquely pure mineral water deep under his garden says he will have to sell his Framfield property after a two-year legal battle with the district council.

David Purseglove, of Paygate Farm, Palehouse Common, last month won an appeal to bottle the mineral water when Wealden District Council officers withdrew their opposition at a public inquiry.

However, the self-proclaimed psychic says his dream to bottle the water has been crushed after a subsequent appeal to have his costs paid was refused.

Mr Purseglove said: 'This is a pyrrhic victory. I am going to have to sell my property to pay my legal bills. I'm a broken man; I've lost everything.'

He said that the turnover from bottling the mineral water, which was discovered after he experienced a recurring dream about finding treasure in the back garden, would amount to about 20,000 a week. But he now has to sell up after running up legal costs of between 10,000 and 13,000.

The Sussex Express last year reported that Mr Purseglove had found 'the purest, most uncontaminated water ever discovered' from a stream 120 feet below his garden. The stream, thought to be millions of years old, contained water which had the perfect balance of minerals, including fluoride.

Mr Purseglove had no qualms about acting on his 'hidden treasure' dream. 'I've had psychic experiences since I was four,' he said. 'I have had experiences like this all my life and they're right every time.

'I know when I get these special dreams it means something. But this time it was really something special.'
