SPEEDWAY: Lyons Roars on to tame Wolves

A SUN kissed Arlington saw The Eagles triumph 49-41 against Wolverhampton with the two Eastbourne guests, Jason Lyons and Hull's Garry STead, in inspirational form.

Lyons cliamed 11 points in what was a great meeting for the Eagles, and Stead, their Premier League guest, replaced the injured Marcus Andersson and hot a great seven points with a heat win in the eighth.

Heat 15 saw controversy with Mikael Karlsoon in the lead with Jesper B Jensen behind him. David Norris was hunting Jensen down in lap two, looking as if he was ready to fly by, but he appeared to be pushed wide resulting in Norris falling off and Wolves taking a 5-1 end to the meeting.

With Norris very unhappy the situation threatened to erupt, but thankfully the tension simmered.

After the meeting, Jon Cook praised Garry Stead in his response to the SOS call and the way he rode.

Cook also paid tribute to the rest of the team and said he though David Norris rode much better than his score suggested.
