Sponsored skydive success

Three fundraisers who all suffer Multiple Sclerosis were "absolutely thrilled" with the £3,610.50 they raised by taking part in a sponsored skydive.

Julie Trimby, Denise Gould, and Jane French presented their cheque to Gladys Steward of the Hastings and Rother branch of the MS Society.

Each raised in the region of 1,000 but they were joined in their skydive by Nik Simon who took part on behalf of her husband who has MS and achieved the rest of the total.

The event took place at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent when each of them jumped from 10,000ft.

Julie said: "We were absolutely thrilled with the amount we raised. We never thought we would even raise the minimum of 400 each, let along 1,000.

"It is such an extraordinary amount that we are really pleased...and I would reccommend anyone to do it. This is something that the three of us had always wanted to do but never had the opportunity before, and it was brilliant. Two of them jumped at lunchtime when it was a bit cloudy but me and the other lady had to wait until 8.15pm to do it. We eventually jumped but by then it was a clear sky and the sun was going down, so it was lovely.
