IF anyone saw the 18 or so people walking from the Pelham Hotel, Bexhill, to Hastings Pier last Saturday morning, they may well be forgiven for thinking that in their hurry they forgot to remove their pyjamas.

However, donning a pair of pyjamas was the dress code of the day and all in the name of charity as local residents Natasha Clackworthy and Sandy Ralph had organised a sponsored walk in aid of Children In Need.

Adults and children aged between 8 - 18 bravely took the challenge in temperatures of 25 degrees and raised over 350.

Natasha said: "We've been wanting to do something for Children in Need for a long time and, we now plan to do some sort of fund raising event each month up to November".

Their efforts will culminate in a charity variety performance at the Pelham Hotel on November 24 and tickets are available now at 50p each.
