The Dark Star 24/7, to be held on July 21, is the inaugural event for the new Dark Star Foundation charity, set up to support good causes and fund new businesses.

The sponsored journey starts at the Dark Star Brewery in Partridge Green, following a round-trip before returning to the Partridge pub for a BBQ and well-earned rest.

Cyclists will take on the 24-mile return journey to Shoreham while walkers will tackle a seven mile ramble to Wineham, stopping for refreshments at The Duke of Wellington, Shoreham, and The Royal Oak, Wineham, before embarking on the journey home.

James Cuthbertson of Dark Star said: “The 24/7 event is a great excuse to get out in the fresh air, make new friends and have fun, not to mention sharing a beer at the end of our spoils and raise funds for the Foundation.

“What we’re asking people to do is pay £15 entry (under 16 free). For that all adults will get a Dark Star Foundation t-shirt, coffee on arrival and beer upon arrival at The Partridge. Participants are asked to get sponsored alongside their entry fee to raise as much as possible, with all funds raised going to the Dark Star Foundation.”

The foundation was set up by the brewery to help good causes in three key areas: providing funds to pubs to assist in their fundraising effort, provide seed funding for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, and issuing funds to good causes and charities.
