The Aldingbourne Trust enjoyed a spook-tacular October Half Term at the Aldingbourne Country Centre.

The woodland walk was transformed into the Wild Woods with scary characters marauding around, story time with the Wizard of the Woods, treasure hunt, bouncy castle, lucky dip and pumpkin carving.

The spectre of Death was a particularly scary sight looming silently behind people through the mist.

Children were enticed by Wicked Witches to take part in the treasure hunt and lucky dip. Anyone who felt brave could throw wet sponges at the Red Devil whilst he was trapped in the stocks.

Becky Carney, who was visiting with her family, said: “It was such a great day. All the staff were brilliant and great fun! Thank you. Looking forward to your Christmas event!”

Youngsters could have a calmer experience at Story Time with the Wizard of the Woods and enjoy pumpkin carving in the Bothy with the witches.

200 pumpkins were kindly donated by Barfoots for the event, and there were some very creative designs.

Jen Sears, event co-ordinator for Aldingbourne Trust, said: “We had a great Halloween and had an incredible amount of visitors. There was something for everyone to enjoy – bouncy castle, pumpkin carving, birds of prey, story time; it was great to also see lots of children dressed up in spooky costumes. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us.”
