Spooky store staff in the pink

SUPERSTORE staff have raised £5,400 for charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, shattering last year's amount.

A day of entertainment was laid on at the Holmbush Centre, Shoreham, as part of a Pink Hallowe'en event organised by Marks & Spencer.

The Silkroad belly dancing troupe, the Sarah Fry Dancers and local theatre groups were all on hand to entertain shoppers on Saturday.

Silvana Carlberg, from the store, said: "It was good fun. We had a whole day of events.

"Some of the male staff had their legs waxed. Some of the girls from the lingerie department wore pink bras."

This was the fifth year running that staff at the store had supported Breakthrough Breast Cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last year, they raised 3,375.

This year's fund-raising is not quite complete, however.

On Saturday, November 18, staff will be at Brighton and Hove Albion's home game against Tranmere Rovers and hope to collect even more money for the good cause.
